QI always get blisters on my feet. What causes them? A The most common reason is friction to the area caused by shoes that don't fit right. There are other causes such as eczema, chickenpox, athlete's foot or psoriasis but these are rarer.
Fluid leaks from the blood vessels into the skin and separates the outer layers of skin from deeper layers.
Never burst a blister as they protect the skin against infection. They get smaller with time as the fluid is re-absorbed and the overlying skin dries and falls off.
QI lost more than four stone.
tag heuer replicaI feel great but my periods stopped. Should I be worried? A It is common in extreme weight loss for periods to stop. This is due to hormonal changes that weight loss can bring about, specifically a hormone called gonadotrophin.
Give it a few months to see if things return to normal. If they don't, see your doctor for blood tests.
QI had a fall and developed a frozen shoulder. It's sore and limits me. Will it get better? A Frozen shoulder is a painful condition where the mobility of the joint is severely limited. It is caused by inflammation and thickening of the capsule of tissue surrounding the head of the humerus.
It is treated by physiotherapy and anti-inflammatory drugs. Sometimes patients need an injection of steroids into the joint space. Recovery can be slow but it will eventually improve.
Q My son developed a twisted testicle and had to have it removed. I fear it will happen to him again. What causes it? A The medical name for the condition is testicular torsion and happens when the cord that carries sperm from the testicles and blood to the testicle gets twisted. The blood supply gets cut off causing excruciating pain and, if it is not caught early enough, it can lead to the testicle becoming so starved of oxygen that it has to be removed.
This does not affect his fertility and a prosthetic testicle can be inserted. It is a rare condition and it replica breitling is extremely unlikely it will happen to him again as surgeons usually stitch the remaining testicle to the inside of the scrotum to stop it from twisting.
QI am a man in my 20s and have always had a dark area of skin on my left shoulder. Now it is getting hairier and hairier. How can I stop it? A If it is growing out of an area of pigmented skin, you may have a condition called a Becker's Nevus. This is a birth mark that causes dark pigmentation and hair growth.
They can range in size from being small to very large and cover a big part of the back or shoulder.
They are harmless but some people find them unsightly and want them removed. This would be a cosmetic procedure but you may be able to persuade your GP to refer you to a plastic surgeon for advice.

Q The nails on my hand seem to be curving inwards. Why? A It could be a fungal infection or spoon-shaped nails known as Koilonichia, caused by iron deficiency. Visit your GP.
